On behalf of Blue Gem Wind, MarineSpace Ltd is delighted to have submitted the EIA and Marine Licence application for Project Erebus. Project Erebus is an up to 100 MW Floating Offshore Wind Farm (FLOW) which will be the first FLOW project in the Celtic Sea to go through the consenting process. MarineSpace has led the offshore EIA, alongside the wider OWC and ITPEnergised project team over the past 2 years.
MarineSpace Ltd Deputy Offshore EIA Project Manager, Lara Lawrie said “The Marine Licence application and ES submission marks a huge milestone for the project. Being the first of its kind in the Celtic Sea, it has been really important that we approach the EIA, in the right way and detailed stakeholder engagement throughout the process has been at the centre of this. Through this approach we believe we have delivered a robust, proportionate EIA”.
MarineSpace Ltd Offshore EIA Project Manager, Jonny Lewis noted “Erebus has been a significant project for MarineSpace Ltd. As a company based in Wales, we see the massive opportunity that the Celtic Sea presents to deliver sustainable, renewable energy from FLOW. We’re proud to be supporting this first development in the region and feel we have helped set the foundations to enable a strategic approach to development to take place in the Celtic Sea.”
