MarineSpace provides support to CPIM-GEUS for the Le Gan Offshore Windfarm (Vietnam)

MarineSpace has recently completed a role supporting a CPIM-GEUS (Vietnam’s Northern Centre for Planning and Investigation of Marine resources – Environment, and the Geological Survey of Denmark and Greenland) team in producing a geology focused desk-top study for the Le Gan Offshore Windfarm which is being developed in the seas of Bình Thuận Province, Vietnam by Copenhagen Offshore Partners.

The windfarm is anticipated to have a generating capacity of 3.5 GW and has an estimated investment value of US$10.5 billion. Principal Consultant Matt Owen performed a central role in the project, working alongside experts in the field from Vietnam and Denmark. MarineSpace contributed to description of site data, geological hazards, and seabed use chapters; GIS construction, data management and production of charts; report compilation and finalisation.

GEUS and MarineSpace have an Memorandum Of Understanding for collaboration on projects with a marine geology focus and it is hoped that further projects will be undertaken in the near future. MarineSpace will continue to work with international partners as our operations expand beyond Europe with growing activity in Southeast Asia and North America.
